Neurotechnology treats paralysis!!

The latest study done by scientists proves that paralysis can be cured by the help of neurotechnology.
It is basically a mixture of technology and neuroscience being called as STIMO(Stimulation movement overground). This study has been published in nature and nature neuroscience.

This image is of a STIMO study participant David Mzee. He can be seen being able to take few steps after being paralyzed by a sport accident.

The STIMO study has been able to successfully cure three paralyzed people who were paralyzed many years ago.A neuroscientist Gregoire Courtine said "The human nervous system has responded more profoundly than we expected.".The former paralyzed patients are now being able to walk with the therapy in spinal cord and weight assisted therapy.

Courtine further said "Our findings are based on deep understanding of underlying mechanism which we gained through years of research on animal models. We were thus able to mimic in real time how the brain naturally activates spinal cord."
"All the previously paralyzed patients involved in study were able to voluntary gain power in their leg muscles,we then knew we are on the right path." says another neuroscientist who is involved in this study.

The result of the study indicated that neurological function persists beyond electrical stimulation sessions and essentially the brain heals itself.
"The exact timing and location of electrical stimulation are crucial to a patients ability to produce intended movement. It is also this exact timing coincidence that triggers the growth of new nerve connections".said by Courtine.
